RFCA grant supports RAF Reserves unit fundraiser

RAF reservists from 2623 Squadron received a grant from the RFCA to support their participation in the Walking With The Wounded Cumbrian Challenge in May.

The reservists, in two teams, took part in the Walking With The Wounded Cumbrian Challenge in May, to raise both money and awareness for the charity. The team raised hundreds of pounds in completing this challenge and helped spread the word about their squadron and the charity. Anyone who didn’t yet donate can donate now on their fundraising page.

2623 Squadron is part of the RAF Reserves and trains out of RAF Honington near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

East Anglia RFCA provided funding for both teams’ entry fees and funded official T-shirts for all the participants.

Any of the three RAF Reserves units in East Anglia can submit an application additional funding from the RFCA through the Unit Administration Grant on our website. The purpose of the grant is to enable RAF Reserves Commanding Officers to achieve their recruiting and retention goals, and keep their units in the forefront of local attention. RAF Reserves Units based both inside and outside RAF property are eligible to receive this funding.
