The Army Engagement Group (AEG) hosted an event at the JobServe Community Stadium in Colchester on Thursday 9th July.
The AEG tours the country engaging with a wide variety of people to give them a greater understanding of the British Army. The event offered attendees a unique opportunity to engage with the Army and hear about the numerous opportunities that they can offer to young people, from the 100+ trades to apprenticeships and bursaries.
The event also provided employers with details on the benefits of employing service leavers and reservists, and the advantages they can bring to an organisation.
The East Anglia RFCA is very proud to have been part of the AEG event in Colchester. We spoke to a number of attendees about the role we play in connecting defence with society across our region. We were pleased to engage with a number of employers about how they can support Defence by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant, and further their commitments through the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

Following the AEG presentation there was a Q&A session, with our Chief Executive, Colonel Leona Barr-Jones DL VR joining Colonel Lorna Ward, Assistant Commander, Joint Military Command, Midlands and East to answer some of the questions posed by attendees.
You can find more information on the AEG here.
Employers can find out more about the Armed Forces Covenant and working towards accreditation under the ERS by getting in touch with our employer engagement team today, or by visit the dedicated Employer Engagement page on our website.
