Each year, the Ministry of Defence reports on the progress made in delivering the Armed Forces Covenant that supports closer ties between civil society and the military personnel who help to protect it.
The 2024 Armed Forces Covenant Annual Report was published on 18 December and can be read in both full and summary form on GOV.UK. The report sets out recent milestones in progress towards delivery of the Covenant and new commitments from HM Government to the UK’s Armed Forces community.
One important example is the success of Operation Courage, the new integrated mental health and wellbeing service for serving Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Since its inception, more than 6,800 members of the Armed Forces community have been referred into the service.
The annual report also highlights remaining challenges to delivering the Covenant and aspirations not yet met. The full document is a comprehensive review of the Government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring there is always a place for the Armed Forces community in civilian life.
