Three Norfolk Cadets help out at Lord-Lieutenant’s retirement do

Three of the this year’s Lord-Lieutenant Cadets helped receive guests and assist the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, The Countess of Romney during the presentation of the Freedom Awards from Great Yarmouth, King’s Lynn and the City of Norwich.

The retirement reception was held on Thursday 4th July to mark the retirement of the Lord-Lieutenant, Sir Richard Jewson KCVO, JP (he officially retires on 5 August) at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse Museum near Dereham in Norfolk.

Four hundred guests including the former Lord Bishop of Norwich, The Right Reverend Graham James, The Dean of Norwich, the Chief Constable and attended. 

Colonel (Retired) Jamie Athill is the RFCA Norfolk County Chairman and was at the event. He said: “The event was attended by a large selection of people from the very many Norfolk organisations and institutions that have benefited from Sir Richard’s attention as our Lord Lieutenant.”

He added:” Bishop Graham James’s excellent address summed up the respect and affection in which Sir Richard and Lady Jewson are held across the county.”

The new Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk will be The Lady Dannatt MBE.
