A huge well done to Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) Charlotte Perry of 309 (Sawbridgeworth) Squadron, on being awarded the Dacre Sword as top all-round cadet in the Air Training Corps (ATC).  Cadet Perry fought off fierce competition from across the country to claim the title, awarded to her for demonstrating exemplary leadership skills, dedication, and a profound commitment to personal and professional growth. Find out more about the Dacre Award on the Royal Air Force Air Cadets’ website.

CWO Perry said, “Being nominated for this award is an honour and I would hope to not only continue representing the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and the opportunities it creates to the highest standard at events, but also to show other young people coming from places of low confidence that by taking opportunities and giving yourself a chance, a new level of achievement is possible.”

Congratulations to Hertfordshire sea cadet, Leading Cadet Millicent Walker, on her appointment as First Sea Lord Cadet for the London area.

Each year an outstanding cadet from each of the six sea cadet areas is selected as First Sea Lord Cadet. These cadets are the very best in their field, demonstrating outstanding service and dedication to their cadet force. The role of a First Sea Lord Cadet is to act as an ambassador for the sea cadets, attending high profile events during their 12 month tenure.

Cadet Walker has been a sea cadet for seven years, and in that time she has achieved qualifications in physical training, shooting and boating which have allowed her to build her confidence, resilience and leadership skills. Alongside her role as First Sea Lord Cadet, Cadet Walker is also a Lord Lieutenant Cadet for Hertfordshire. Find out more about First Sea Lord Cadets on the Sea Cadets website
