Suffolk’s Lord Lieutenants Cadets were proud to represent the county’s young people as part of this year’s Suffolk Day celebrations on 21 June, hosted in the historic town of Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Day is an annual celebration recognising the many things that make the county such a special place — from its iconic landmarks and attractions to its beautiful landscapes and the inspiring people who live and work across Suffolk.

Representing Suffolk ACF, Cadet Staff Sergeant West supported the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, Mark Pendlington, as part of their Lord Lieutenant Cadet duties. This important role provides cadets with the opportunity to represent young people across the county at significant civic occasions and support the work of the Lord Lieutenant.

During the ceremony, Mr Pendlington presented the Suffolk Medal to this year’s recipients: Liz Harsant, Michael Laskey, Libby Purves OBE and Dr Soni Sushil. The Suffolk Medal recognises individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the county and its communities.

Suffolk ACF is incredibly proud to have played a part in this year’s Suffolk Day celebrations. Events such as these provide cadets with valuable opportunities to engage with their local communities, develop confidence and demonstrate the positive contribution young people make throughout Suffolk.

The organisation continues to support community events across the county, encouraging cadets to take an active role in the communities they serve.
