Suffolk Army Cadet Force has recognised its Assistant County Training Officer’s good service with a special award.

Capt Paul Mildren has completed 18 years of dedicated volunteering with the Army Cadet Force (ACF). During that time he has held a number of roles in the ACF, from detachment instructor to company training officer.

Suffolk ACF’s Commandant, Col Cathy Bradshaw, nominated her officer for the award, which he received from Suffolk’s Cadet Executive Officer, Maj Brian Gerrard, on the Colonel’s behalf.

Capt Mildren is currently responsible for training new cadet force adult volunteers (CFAVs). As Assistant County Training Officer he mentors, and instructs the volunteers in their roles and responsibilities, ensuring their transition into the ACF is seamless.

Col Bradshaw said she had nominated Capt Mildren, “for his absolute devotion to duty and efforts to achieve success for the youth of Suffolk.”

She added: “His sterling work is providing quality CFAVs and non-uniformed volunteers for all of the [ACF] Companies.”
