Simon Matthews, 42, has been promoted to Sergeant after 9 years rising through the ranks in the Royal Logistics Corps (RLC).
“The Army Reserves has given me the confidence to do things I never thought possible. The opportunities are endless and the leadership skills I have learnt have helped me in my civilian job”, said Simon when presented with his new rank slide by the Commanding Officer.
Simon is an Advertising Director who joined the Army Reserve in November 2011. He trained as a Driver in the Royal Logistics Corps and then completed Command Leadership Management Training. He had been serving as a Section Commander before being selected for promotion to Sergeant.
