Essex Wing go on parade for new banner dedication

RAF Air Cadets from the Essex Wing Air Training Corps stand outside Brentwood Cathedral at the end of their parade, unit flags on display ahead of the new Wing Banner's dedication

Last weekend, the Essex Wing of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) held their first Wing Parade since 2016. It was a big occasion, with about 500 members forming the parade contingent, all led by the Essex Wing Band.

RAFAC Air Training Corps adult volunteers, staff and cadets marched through the streets of Brentwood to their destination of the town’s Roman Catholic cathedral, where they all took part in a special church service.

The new Essex Wing Banner was dedicated during the service, and Wing Cdr Nicky Weston formally handed over command of the county’s ATC to his former deputy and new Officer Commanding, Sqn Ldr Ryan Jones.

East Anglia RFCA would like to pass on our thanks to Wing Cdr Weston for his hard work and leadership, and offer the newly promoted Wing Cdr Jones our congratulations and best wishes in his new role!
