RFCA completes Chatteris Army Cadet Force hut refurbishment

Chatteris Cadet hut

Our Estates Team completed a £70k refurbishment of Chatteris Army Cadet Force hut in Cambridgeshire.

Chatteris Army Cadet Force hut & rifle range’s original timber single glazed windows were rotten and beyond economic repair, so new double glazed windows and external doors were fitted.

The 6 week project was delivered on time and within the budget. The cadets were even able to continue using the site throughout the duration of the works!

Jordan Bullman, the Chatteris detachment commander, said about the project: “Thank you for putting life back into the building, myself, staff and all the cadets are pleased with it.”

The corrugated asbestos roof to the ACF hut was swapped for a new lightweight system.

The hollow core internal doors were replaced with new fire rated doors throughout (FD 30) to bring the building up to standard and the WC’s completely overhauled.

The project also included fitting a practical-yet-presentable kitchenette, new internal lighting and external combined emergency lighting.
