Window renovations at the Grade II listed Hertford Army Reserve Centre

Front elevation of Yeomanry House

The scaffolding has now come down to reveal the refreshed Hertford Army Reserve Centre, with renovations having been completed on the windows.

Hertford Army Reserve Centre’s front building, Yeomanry House, is a Grade II listed building on the edge of Hertford’s town centre.

To retain the character of this heritage asset the windows were restored sympathetically to the original construction, only replacing damaged parts of the sash windows where absolutely necessary. As well as painting the windows, the contractor replaced the cords on the sash windows. The RFCA Estates team sought and obtained Listed building consent from East Hertfordshire Council. The application was supported by a Heritage Statement supplied by BEAMS ltd.

The Hertford Army Reserve Centre is the headquarters for the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Army Cadet Force, as well as the meeting place for the Hertford ACF detachment. Our RFCA Estates team maintains safe places for Reserves and Cadets to train in East Anglia, and this is arguably one of the most splendid buildings in our entire estate.
