Army Reserve Medical Unit Moves into Warley

A Troop of Army Medics will be moving into Warley Army Reserve Centre as part of the Army’s Restructuring.

The Troop from 254 Medical Regiment which is part of the Defence Medical Services specialises in providing second line medical support, responding quickly to medical incidents and treatment of casualties. The Troop will be co-located with a Transport Squadron from 151 Regiment The Royal Logistic Corps already based at the Reserve Centre and a detachment from 103 Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers which will be moving in early next year.

254 Medical Regiment recruit and train combat medical technicians to provide expert front line medical care. They also recruit qualified doctors and nurses to deliver an extensive array of services ranging from emergency medicine through to secondary healthcare in high tech medical facilities.

The Medics will be holding an open day on the 31st January 2015 at the Army Reserve centre in Clive Road, where it will open its gates to the public.

254 Regiment has its Headquarters in Cambridge with Squadron Locations at Norwich 160 Sqn, Colchester 161 Sqn, Hitchin 162 Sqn and Maidstone Kent 220 Sqn. The Troop moving into Warley is a detachment from 220 Squadron based at Maidstone.
