Colonel Wilkinson appointed Deputy Lieutenant for Greater London

Colonel (Retd) Ray Wilkinson QVRM TD DL VR has been appointed Deputy Lieutenant for Greater London, a voluntary position promoting the Lieutenancy in Greater London and performing a range of public duties on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant. 

Among the first duties he’s set to perform are assisting with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service selection process, and Remembrance activities within the Borough of Croydon. 

He has previously held voluntary appointments for the Drapers’ Sir William Boreman Trust, and MCCH Society.  He is currently a Trustee of Zetetick Housing, a charity that provides specialist housing for vulnerable people mainly within the Borough of Croydon. A Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Drapers Company, he is also the Honorary Colonel of 71st (City of London) Yeomanry Signal Regiment. 

Colonel Wilkinson has been personally committed to improving social inclusion for many years and is looking forward to assisting the delivery of the Lieutenancy Strategy, ‘Building Bridges for a Fairer London’.
