On 29 Oct 19, by kind permission of Commander Joint Forces Command Chicksands, Gp Capt Mark Smith RAF, Bedfordshire District Sea Cadets were presented with their Cadet Commissions.
The presentations were made on behalf of HM Queen by HM Lord-Lt of Bedfordshire, Mrs Helen Nellis. The Lord-Lt commented: “Chicksands Officers’ Mess was a splendid setting to mark such an historic moment for the Sea Cadets and it was a pleasure to see the joy on the faces of the newly commissioned Officers.”
The Officers’ receiving their commissions were from Bedford, Biggleswade, Dunstable, Flitwick & Ampthill and Luton Units and the Eastern Area Sea Cadet Canoe Centre based in Bedfordshire.
