Cadets and Staff at 104 (City of Cambridge) Squadron are celebrating after the opening of their new indoor Air rifle range.
After several months of hard work staff and cadets put the finishing touches to the range before it was finally put into action. The Squadron would like to thank Headquarters Air Cadets who has been a tremendous help through every stage of the application, build, registration process and purchasing of the new BSA Scorpion Air rifles.
The new Air rifle range now means we can regularly shoot on parade nights and weekends. In turn meaning the Squadron can increase the amount of cadets gaining marksmanship badges.
Cadet Jamie Campbell said “It is brilliant to have our own range, it means we can shoot a lot more and cadets can improve their marksmanship skills”
Civilian Instructor Mike Jenvey, Squadron Shooting Officer said, “Competition among the cadets has been remarkable already. In such a short space of time, cadets want to be the first to be a Squadron, Wing, Region or Corp marksman. I am very impressed at the standards already achieved, and feel it is only a matter of time before the Squadron will have a cadets wearing the various marksmanship awards on offer.”
