On Tuesday 28th March 2023, East Anglia RFCA members from across our six counties gathered for the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Association President and Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Mr Robert Voss, led the proceedings alongside Chairman Mr Ian Twinley DL and Chief Executive Colonel Ray Wilkinson QVRM TD DL VR.
East Anglia RFCA Chair Mr Ian Twinley delivered his final annual report, congratulating the volunteer membership for their dedicated support and highlighting work carried out by the Association’s staff during the past 12 months. Mr Twinley was presented with a commemorative association plaque as a token of appreciation for his contributions to the Association by the Association President, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Mr Robert Voss . The membership voted in the new Chair, Brigadier Tim Seal.
This year’s keynote speaker was Major General Greg Smith, Chair of the Board of the Council of Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, the decision making board agreeing policy and direction for the 13 RFCAs. Major General Smith played a leading role in RFCA negotiations with the Ministry of Defence regarding the future of the RFCAs, and he talked to members about this at the AGM.
Two individuals were congratulated on their contributions to the Association. Captain Andy Panther and Captain Brian Gerrard were each presented with a Certificate for Long Service (15 years) and Good Conduct by the Association President.
Our Annual Report was submitted to members at the event, a hard copy of which they were able to take away. Members will, if the opportunity presents itself, share the stories contained within to raise awareness of the RFCA’s work in the region.
