Simon Messervy served over 30 years in the Reserves. He joined HQ Coy 5 Royal Anglian as a potential Officer in 1986 before commissioning in 1988. Following stints as a Pl Comd at Corby and IO at Peterborough he moved to 2i/c 200 Sqn Bedford as part of the transition and re-rolling to 158 Regt RLC. On promotion he served as OC 200 Sqn Peterborough and subsequently several tours as OC 210 Sqn Bedford before taking over as Regt 2i/c back in Peterborough. His reserve service completed with a final tour as Coy Comd with CUOTC, Project officer and AT instructor at UOTC prior to retirement.

In his civilian career, Simon Messervy is a qualified Chartered Surveyor. He worked for Lambert Smith Hampton for 20 years, setting up the Eastern Regional Management Department before joining Howard Group in 2006 to manage their property portfolio.
