Colonel Iain MacDonald served with 151 Regiment RCT (V). Iain joined Essex Army Cadet Force (ACF) in 1990 and since then has held every post in Essex ACF, culminating in a five-year term as Colonel Commandant. During his tenure, he established and led a pre-commissioning board for aspiring ACF Officers in Essex.

In his civilian career, Iain was Vice President of Human Resources EMEA for a Fortune 100 US parent company, having held positions of increasing responsibility from UK HR Director, HR Director Europe, and Vice President Europe including a four-year stint working in Brussels. He had previously worked at GEC Avionics and New Holland. He is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Recently retired, Iain has been a member of East Anglia RFCA for more than ten years and continues to chair the EA RFCA Joint Cadet Committee.
