An attractive opportunity for someone seeking flexible part time working has arisen for a Caretaker / Cleaner at East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) based in Colchester, Essex CO2 0BP.

East Anglia RFCA is one of 13 RFCAs across the UK and widely recognised as the most valuable, knowledgeable and authoritative body in support of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force Reserve Forces and Cadet Organisations in East Anglia. The Association is an arms-length public body, apolitical and independent from the Ministry of Defence although funded by it to deliver its three mandated Defence outputs of managing the Reserve and Cadet Estates, Community and Employer Engagement, and support to Cadets.

As a public sector organisation with Crown status, we are looking for an organised individual who is computer literate and work with the minimum of supervision. Good communication and inter-personal skills are required.

Range of tasks include:

-Holding responsibility for the care and custody of the Centre, securing the premises at all times when not in use by the ACF or other users Control and monitor money due to and from external agencies.

-Carrying out day to day cleaning duties, including, at times, the supervision of other contract cleaners, on the premises.

-Reporting required repairs.

-Some administrative duties.

As duties on site are time critical, applicants should live in the locality of 20 mins travel time to the Cadet Training Centre to enable them to attend to unforeseen incidents. The full address is Cadet Training Centre, Cherry Tree Camp, Cherry Tree Lane, Colchester, Essex CO2 0BP.

This post is for 20 hours per week excluding lunch breaks; the exact working hours are negotiable and will depend on your availability and will be agreed before employment commences. This position attracts a current salary of £9,314 p.a. Additional benefits include a generous defined benefit pension scheme, annual leave pro-rated to the full time entitlement of 25 days plus public holidays (rising to 30 days pro-rata after 5 years of service) and free on-site parking.
