Chairman’s Report released at the AGM

The 53rd Association AGM was held at Coldhams Lane Army Reserve Centre in Cambridge on Tuesday 22nd March 2016

 

In all, around 90 guests and staff attended the AGM, which brings together Association members and guests from across the region.

The AGM covers annual items of business, and includes opportunities to network, ask questions and discuss ideas.

Although the meeting began at 11am, stands and displays were available from 10am until after the lunch. There were displays by 254 Medical Regiment, RAF Infantry and 2623 (East Anglian) Squadron.

254 Medical Regiment brought a field ambulance and spoke of the relevant training received in various roles by Regulars and Reserves. The RAF infantry team brought with them an array of artillery and spoke of the wide-ranging roles within the RAF. 2623 (East Anglian) Squadron displayed CRNB equipment and were on hand to explain its applications.

The business items were covered in the first half of the meeting, presided over by HM Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk Mr Richard Jewson.

This year, we also enjoyed presentations from Major General Crackett and the RAF presentation team. Both Major General Crackett and our Chairman Major General Smith emphasised the importance of the contribution of the volunteer members to delivering local Defence messages and supporting our regional units and cadets.

The Chairman’s report and the year book for 2016 contain useful details about our Association, key dates, our people and our work. The year book is available to the EA RFCA membership and staff.
