On the evening of the 20th of November 2013 Suffolk Army Cadet Force hosted the autumn Awards Night.
Held at the Reserve Army Training Centre in Yarmouth Rd, Ipswich, fifteen Cadets received Business & Technology Education Council (Btec) Level 2 Awards in Uniformed Public Service. This award equates to 4 GCSE’s at A-C or 4 GCSE’s at A* if combined with a Duke of Edinburgh Silver level Award. Six Cadets also received Duke of Edinburgh Silver Certificates & Badges.
The Cadets and Adult volunteers represented Cadets from the three Cadet Companies based throughout Suffolk. Regrettably a further four Cadets who were eligible for awards were elsewhere but will receive their awards at another event.
This awards evening clearly demonstrates Suffolk Army Cadet Force’s Commitment to Youth Development combined with support from the educational charity Cadet Vocational Qualifications Organisation (CVQO) worthwhile qualifications are being achieved while undertaking beneficial extra-curricular activities.
The Presentations were made by Mr Tim Passmore, Police & Crime Commissioner for Suffolk while the evening was hosted by Colonel Robert J West TD, Colonel Commandant for Suffolk Army Cadet Force.
