The scheme, launched recently by Prime Minister David Cameron, is being implemented by Supporting Britain’s Reservists and Employers (SaBRE). It is part of the Government’s commitment to recognise and reward employers who support defence personnel, including reservists, veterans, the wounded, injured or sick, families and cadets.

Kristina Carrington, Regional SaBRE campaign director, said “It is very important that we are able to recognise the continued support and commitment Essex County Council gives to their reservist employees. From support for training courses through to mobilisation, Essex County Council’s commitment to defence has been unwavering and they are very worthy Silver Award Winners”.
