Global Rail Construction and TEMAG have become the first businesses in Hatfield, Hertfordshire to sign up to the Military Corporate Covenant.
The idea behind the Covenant is for businesses to recognise the work of the Armed Forces while at the same time taking advantage of the wealth of talent on offer from ex-servicemen.
Hatfield Business Park based Global Rail Construction was the first to sign up after local MP Shapps launched the Covenant at the end of the summer.
After signing the Covenant, Mr Lombardelli, Managing Director at Global Rail Construction commented: “I’m delighted that Global Rail Construction is the very first business in Welwyn Hatfield to sign up to this great initiative.
This is a great opportunity not only to show our support for our Armed Forces but also to make the most of this relationship to ensure we strengthen our business by securing the services of these talented men and women to assist us in enhancing our business.”
After signing the covenant with Global Rail, The Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP for Welwyn Hatfield said: “I’m thrilled that Global Rail Construction has become the first business in Welwyn Hatfield to sign the Military Covenant.
It’s a fantastic initiative which will have a huge impact on both service persons and local businesses. We are very lucky to have some of the finest servicemen in the world and it’s a great opportunity for our local businesses to make the most of their enormous talents. I urge other businesses to follow Global Rail’s lead and to sign up.”
