Employees Undertake Military Style Training

On Saturday 9th May, a group of budding executives arrived at the Army Reserves Centre at Coldhams Lane dressed and ready to challenge themselves with a fun packed day of Military style training.

The training day dubbed as Exercise Executive Stretch was led by Lt Col Mark Nicholas, Commanding Officer of Cambridge University Officer Cadet Corps with assistance from 254 Medical Regiment, whose Headquarters is based just down the road in Cherry Hinton.

Exercise Executive Stretch was created with the aim of offering employers throughout East Anglia, the chance to send employees who are already in management, or looking to progress to management level to develop certain skills in a fun and challenging environment away from the workplace.

Activities on the day took many forms, with the 254 Medical Regiment team guiding medical command tasks that included first aid training. No one was afraid to get their hands dirty when the shooting activity began. Employees were keen to get their hands on the weapons and have a go at aiming them at the target at the end of the hall.

Though all the activities were packed full of fun and adventure, the skills developed within the exercises are of significant value to the employers and individuals. Transferable skills such as teamwork leadership and communications played a huge part in the day, with certain exercises created to show the full potential of each and every employee when it comes to their ability to work together in order to deliver the best outcome possible.

All in all, Exercise Executive Stretch was a great success, with many worn-out but smiley faces at the end of the day.
