VACANCY – FULL TIME ESTATES FACILITIES MANAGER

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estates Facilities Manager at East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) based in Chelmsford, Essex.
East Anglia RFCA is one of 13 RFCAs across the UK and widely recognised as the most valuable, knowledgeable and authoritative body in support of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force Reserve Forces and Cadet Organisations in East Anglia. The Association is an arms-length public body, apolitical and independent from the Ministry of Defence although funded by it to deliver its three mandated Defence outputs of managing the Reserve and Cadet Estates, Community and Employer Engagement, and support to Cadets.
As a public sector organisation with Crown status, we are looking for an organised individual with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, who is computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly and work with the minimum of supervision. Good communication and inter-personal skills are required.
Range of tasks include:
-Managing the Association utilities, cleaning, waste disposal and grounds maintenance contracts
-Act as the Association health & safety and environmental protection advisor
-Management of accommodation stores and the Association vehicle fleet
-Maximise revenue from hiring / letting of the Association built assets
We are looking for a highly organised individual with a flair for delivering value for money. The right candidate must be able to manage multiple contracts and suppliers and will be an excellent budget manager.
Knowledge of maximising revenue from hiring properties is desirable but not essential. The post holder will be expected to travel throughout the region as required.
A qualification in facilities management and / or membership of IWFM, or other professional body, is desirable as is a formal health & safety qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH).
This post is for 42 hours per week including lunch breaks. This position attracts a current salary of £25,967 p.a. Additional benefits include a generous defined benefit pension scheme, annual leave of 25 days plus public holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years of service) and free on-site parking. Measures are in place to manage the current COVID-19 situation, including social distancing and the ability to work from home for some tasks with an issued laptop.

(1) ARMY CADETS NATIONAL SERGEANT MAJOR INSTRUCTOR (1 role)
1. Application for the volunteer role of Army Cadets National Sergeant Major Instructor are now
invited from suitably qualified members of the Army Cadets.
2. Applicants are invited to submit a letter setting out the relevant skills and experience that
would qualify them for this senior volunteer role, and a CV not longer than two pages.

5. The successful candidate will be notified by Cadets Branch shortly after the date of the board
and it is expected that they will remain in role for a period of three years. Once appointed, the role
holder will remain with an ACF county for administration purposes for that period.
