An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Cadet Administrative Assistants at East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) based at Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Army Cadet Force, one in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and one in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

East Anglia RFCA is one of 13 RFCAs across the UK and widely recognised as the most valuable, knowledgeable and authoritative body in support of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force Reserve Forces and Cadet Organisations in East Anglia. The Association is an arms-length public body, apolitical and independent from the Ministry of Defence although funded by it to deliver its three mandated Defence outputs of managing the Reserve and Cadet Estates, Community and Employer Engagement, and support to Cadets.

As a public sector organisation with Crown status, we are looking for an organised individual with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, who is computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly and work with the minimum of supervision. Good communication and inter-personal skills are required.

Range of tasks include:

Management of ACF Properties

Stores Management and Accounting

SHEF Management

Cadet Training


You must have experience of, and preferably be qualified in, Safety, Health, Environmental and Fire matters and Stores Management.   The successful candidate must complete the Ammunition Storeman’s course within twelve months of taking up post, if not already qualified.  You will be expected to travel throughout the region and be flexible with working hours as some evening & weekend work will be necessary.

This post is for 47 hours per week including lunch breaks on an All Hours Worked contract. This position attracts a current salary of £23,724 p.a. Additional benefits include a generous defined benefit pension scheme, annual leave of 25 days plus public holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years of service) and free on-site parking.
