Prison Officers from HMP Whitemoor join the MPS Reserve Company

Friday 22 February 2019 saw the attestation of two members of staff from HMP Whitemoor into the ranks of the Military Provost Staff Reserve Company.

This event marks the development of a growing partnership between the MPS Regiment based in Colchester and HMP Whitemoor. Recent staff study days held at the Military Corrective Training Centre, Colchester and HMP Whitemoor have resulted in staff engagement and development to the benefit of both organisations.

This growing synergy between the two organisations is clearly reflected in this attestation. They bring with them a custodial skill set and experience from the Long Term High Security Estate that adds real capability to the MPS Regiment who are tasked to deliver specialist detention capability on deployed operations. With both officers citing adventure and the development of leadership skills as reasons for joining, the MPS Regiment look forward, as a Nationally Recruited Army Reserve unit, to meeting these aspirations within their training programme.
